Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Cerenium Technologies, LLC ("Cerenium," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on cereniumtech.com (the "Site"), and how you can control them.
This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which provides broader information about how we collect and use personal data.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to website owners.
Cookies set by the website owner (in this case, Cerenium) are called first-party cookies. Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called third-party cookies. Third-party cookies enable third-party features or functionality to be provided on or through a website.
2. Cookies We Use
We use a minimal number of cookies, divided into two categories:
2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are required for the Site to function. They do not collect personal information and cannot be disabled.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
cerenium_cookie_consent |
Stores your cookie consent preference (accepted or declined) so the banner is not shown on every page load | 1 year | First-party, localStorage |
Note: we use localStorage (a browser storage mechanism) rather than a traditional cookie file to store your consent preference. It functions similarly to a cookie but is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
2.2 Analytics Cookies
These cookies are set only if you explicitly accept analytics cookies via the consent banner. They help us understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it. They do not identify you personally.
| Cookie Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga |
Google Analytics | Distinguishes unique users by assigning a randomly generated number as a client identifier | 2 years |
_ga_<container-id> |
Google Analytics | Persists session state and measurement ID for GA4 | 2 years |
These cookies are only loaded after you give your consent. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no tracking occurs.
3. Third-Party Cookies
The only third-party cookies we use are Google Analytics cookies, described in Section 2.2 above, and only with your prior consent.
We do not use advertising cookies, social media tracking pixels, or any other third-party tracking technologies. We do not permit third parties to place cookies on the Site for their own purposes.
4. Your Consent
When you first visit the Site, a cookie consent banner is displayed at the bottom of the screen. You have two choices:
- Accept All — Strictly necessary storage is enabled and analytics cookies (GA4) are loaded.
- Decline — Only strictly necessary storage is used. No analytics cookies are set and Google Analytics does not load.
We implement Google Consent Mode v2. This means that before you make a choice — and if you decline — all Google Analytics consent signals are set to denied, and no tracking data is collected or sent to Google.
Your preference is stored locally on your device and honoured for one year. You may change your preference at any time (see Section 5).
Continued use of the Site after accepting cookies constitutes ongoing consent until you withdraw it.
5. Managing Cookies
5.1 Using Our Preference Tool
You can review and change your cookie preference at any time by clicking Manage Cookies in the footer of any page on this Site. This will re-display the consent banner and allow you to accept or decline analytics cookies. Your new preference will be saved and applied immediately.
5.2 Browser Settings
You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View what cookies are stored and delete them individually
- Block third-party cookies
- Block cookies from specific sites
- Block all cookies from being set
- Delete all cookies when you close your browser
Be aware that disabling cookies via browser settings may affect the functionality of this and other websites. To find out how to manage cookies in your browser, visit:
5.3 Opting Out of Google Analytics
You can also opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
6. Do Not Track
Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that signals to websites that you do not want to be tracked. There is currently no universally accepted standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals. Our Site does not alter its behavior in response to DNT signals; instead, we rely on the explicit consent mechanism described in this policy to control analytics tracking.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our use of cookies or applicable law. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated via the consent banner on your next visit.
